NORMAN, OK –

The University of Iowa women’s track team began competition at the John Jacob Invitational today, with the Distance Carnival. The Hawkeyes had eight student-athletes compete in the Carnival, all in the 1,500 meters.

Juniors Diane Nukuri (4:30.11) and Meghan Armstrong (4:30.18) placed third and fourth respectively, while senior Shannon Stanley placed eighth (4:34.95.).

The Iowa women’s track team will continue competition at the John Jacob Invitational in Norman, OK, with the field events beginning at 9 a.m.
