Women's Team, 10 Student-Athletes Earn All-Academic Honor from USTFCCCA

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recognized the University of Iowa women’s track and field team and 10 individuals to its All-Academic Team on Monday.

Teams with a collective GPA of 3.0 or higher earned the distinction. Individuals needed a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, while also finishing top 96 in an individual event (top 48 relay) during indoor season and/or competing at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The women’s team posted a 3.17 GPA and had six student-athletes selected to the organization’s all-academic team. Four student-athletes from the men’s team earned all-academic recognition.

Iowa’s individuals that earned the recognition are below:

• Josephine Flynt (Art)
• Ryan Johnson (Mechanical Engineering)
• Luke Knepp (Finance)
• Hayden Kuhn (Finance)
• Carlee Rochford (Sport and Recreation Management)
• Sean Smith (Sport and Recreation Management)
• Princess Uche (Enterprise Leadership)
• Peyton Wilson (Elementary Education)

Cortez, Duax, Knepp and Rochford have been named to the team for consecutive seasons.
