High School – Four-time all-conference selection… hit over .400 in each of his last three years, including a .472 average as a senior… hit 21 home runs in his last three years of high school… two-time first team Iowa Newspaper Association all-state selection as a defensive back… second team Des Moines Register all-state pick as a quarterback… three-time first team all-conference selection and second team all-state in basketball.
