2023-24 (Oklahoma)
- Compiled a 29-3 record (27-3 against D1 opponents) in his first season of action with the Sooners at 197 pounds
- Earned All-American status for the third time in his career
- Posted a 9-1 dual record
- Claimed nine wins against ranked opponents
- Secured first dual win as a Sooner in the season-opener (Nov. 9), defeating Central Michigan’s Cameron Wood via 21-3 tech fall (6:00)
- Earned the 197-pound title in each regular season tournament he competed in: Michigan State Open (Nov. 11), Reno Tournament of Champions (Dec. 17) and Southern Scuffle (Jan. 2)
- Started for the Sooners at the Big 12 Championships, wrestling as the No. 2 seed in the 197-pound bracket while picking up three wins
- Qualified for the NCAA Championships as a No. 8 seed after a third-place finish at the Big 12 Championships
- Picked up six wins and finished in third place, becoming OU’s highest NCAA finisher since Cody Brewer, who also took third place in 2016
- After getting pinned in the first period by eventual national champion No. 1 Aaron Brooks (Penn State) in the 197-pound quarterfinals, Buchanan headed to the consolation blood round where he used two key escapes to defeat John Poznanski of Rutgers, 2-1 in tiebreakers. Buchanan rattled off two more wins, including knocking off Big 12 Champion Tanner Sloan of South Dakota State by decision, 6-2. In the third-place bout, Buchanan cruised to a 9-4 win over Cornell’s No. 5 Jason Cardenas to solidify a high spot on the podium

2021-22 (Wyoming)
- Buchanan put together a tremendous junior campaign which saw him become just the fourth two-time All-American in program history after finishing third at the NCAA Tournament
- Was tabbed as the No. 2 seed at the NCAA Tournament
- He also became just the fourth Cowboy in program history to win a Big 12 title and the first to do so at 197 pounds defeating No. 16 Tanner Sloan (SDSU) in the championship bout
- Opened his season by winning the Cowboy Open with three straight bonus point victories
- Won the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational knocking off No. 7 Patrick Brucki (MICH) and No. 10 Eric Schultz (NEB) in consecutive bouts to capture the title
- Posted a 16-3 record on the season against ranked opponents never losing a match to an unranked opponent
- Finished his season by winning 15 of his final 16 matches
- Led the team in bonus point wins with 17 including eight wins via pin
- Excelled in the classroom as well earning Second Team Academic All Big 12 Honors.
2020-21 (Wyoming)
- In his sophomore season Buchanan earned All-American status finishing 8th at the NCAA Tournament, it was his first time competing at the NCAA Tournament
- Qualified for his second straight NCAA tournament
- Won the Cowboy Challenge tournament going 2-0 defeating No. 2 Noah Adams (WVU) in the finals
- Earned his second career Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors after defeating at the time No. 1 and unbeaten Noah Adams (WVU)
- Won the UVU Round Robin tournament in dominant fashion
- Recorded three wins over top six ranked opponents during his season
- Pinned the No. 9 seed at the NCAA tournament during his run to All-American Status
- Recorded five bonus point wins on the season
2019-20 (Wyoming)
- Buchanan had a stellar season as a true freshman for the Cowboys as he tallied 26 wins and qualified for the NCAA Championships
- Recorded a trio of ranked victories on the season
- Led the Cowboys with 36 takedowns during dual action
- Placed seventh at the Big 12 Championships
- 13 dual wins and 46 points scored
- Recorded four falls and five major decisions on the year
- Won both the Cowboy and UNC Open
- Placed fourth at the Reno T.O.C.
- Finished his season wrestling five ranked opponents in his final six matches
- Named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week Feb. 11 after he beat 7th-ranked Dakota Geer of Oklahoma State, 8-6.
