The University of Iowa women `s track team had athletes competing in two different meets this weekend. Several distance runners ran in the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame while the majority of the team competed in the Husker Invitational at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Kineke Alexander and Peaches Roach took home two gold medals for the Hawkeyes in the meet. Alexander won the 400 meters in 52.88 and also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Roach won the high jump when she cleared 5-7. Five student-athletes also set new personal best marks in the track meet.
Next weekend the Hawkeyes compete in the Cyclone Classic in Ames, IA.
