2015 — Appeared in 34 games with 11 starts — 10 in left field and one as designated hitter… hit .140 (6-of-43) with 11 runs and five RBIs… drew a pinch-hit walk against Ohio State (5/20), scoring the game-tying run in bottom of the ninth inning on Nick Day’s two-run blast… hit his second home run of the season — a solo shot — and drew a bases loaded walk for a 4-3 walk-off victory over Northern Illinois (4/22)… had a pinch-hit triple vs. Cornell College (4/15) — his first hit since March 14… hit a pinch-hit solo home run at Houston Baptist (3/14) — his first long ball as a Hawkeye… finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored in game two (3/7).. drove in his first run as a Hawkeye with a pinch-hit sacrifice fly against Missouri State (2/21).
At Kirkwood CC (2013 & 2014) — Second-team all-region honoree as a freshman… hit .362 with seven home runs, 52 runs and 28 RBIs… hit .309 with one home run, 27 RBIs, 44 runs, and 20 stolen bases as a sophomore, earning honorable mention all-region honors… also had nine doubles and four triples… tallied 14 multi-hit games and posted a .430 on-base and .432 slugging percentage… was a 2013 Tidewater Summer League All-Star.
High School — Third-team all-state honoree as a junior, hitting 10 home runs in 21 games, including two three home run contests… three-time all-conference selection… all-district honoree as a junior and senior… also was a first-team all-state selection in football… earned all-conference honors in basketball, track and field, and baseball as a senior… high school coach was Jess East.
Personal — Born Oct. 24, 1992, in Waterloo, Iowa… son of David Schenck and Amy Joblinske… parents competed at Upper Iowa in baseball and volleyball… father played professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization… has three brothers, Griffin, Cooper, and Carson… majoring in ethics and public policy.
