2009 – Appeared in 43 games with 39 starts… started 34 in center, five in left field… hit primarily in the three spot… battled a hamstring injury to start the season… finished with a .296 batting average… five doubles… two homers… 20 RBI… stole a team-best 19 bases… scattered the fourth-best hit total with 47… 12 of his 20 RBI were with two outs… compiled 15 multi-hit games… had six multi-RBI games… went 1-for-4 with one run scored and four RBI after a grand slam home run at Ohio State (May 14)… posted a season-best 12 game hit streak… stole two bases in a game on four occasions… hit .533 in the ninth inning… Unity Council member.

2008 — Saw action in 54 games, with 51 starts… first collegiate hit was against Notre Dame (Feb. 23) where he went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, an RBI and two walks… had eight sacrifice bunts… hit the second-most home runs of any Hawkeye (4)… was second on the team with five sacrifice flies… set a true freshman record with 47 RBI, which was the third most on the team… named to the Ping Baseball all-freshman team… was hit by 14 pitches which ranks fourth in Iowa’s single season history books… stole 14 bases on the year… walked 23 times… first collegiate home run was against Purdue (Apr. 5)… went 7-for-16 with five runs scored, three RBI and two doubles against Minnesota (May 2-4)… hit .323 on the year for the fifth-best average on the team… had the fifth-best slugging percentage (.461)… had a .435 on base percentage… scored 34 runs… recorded 54 hits… hit .353 in the conference with a .520 slugging percentage… recorded 15 multi-hit games… had eight multi-RBI games… played left field, center field and DH… was the Hawkeyes’ five-hole hitter most the season… recorded an eight-game hitting streak during the season… hit .444 with the bases loaded with a .778 slugging percentage…was most successful with left handed pitching having hit .340… hit .571 in the ninth inning with a .667 on base percentage… collected three game-winning RBI… Unity Council member.
