2009 – Played in 13 games, mainly used as a situational pitcher… recorded eight and two-third innings of relief… compiled an 8.31 ERA… finished with a 0-1 record… made two appearances in Big Ten play… had a perfect 0.0 ERA in one and two-third innings of relief during conference play… didn’t allow a home run… batters hit .083 against him with two outs.
2008 — Appeared in 26 games… recorded 37.1 innings of relief for the Hawkeyes… finished with a 2-1 record and one save… got his first collegiate save at Indiana (Apr. 12)… had the fifth-lowest ERA on the team (6.27)… was most successful with runners in scoring position and two outs… had the second highest win-loss percentage (.667)… was second on the team in appearances (26)… finished five games for the Hawkeyes, which was the third most on the team.
2007 – Made 12 appearances, all in relief… made five consecutive relief appearances without giving up a run (Apr. 17-Apr. 29)… threw two and 2/3 innings of scoreless relief in Iowa’s 10-4 win over Illinois (Apr. 21).
High School – First team all-state selection by coaches and sportswriters as a senior… also a first team all-conference and all-district pick… first team all-conference and all-district pitcher as a junior… two-time second team all conference as an outfielder… posted a 24-3 record with 184 strikeouts in final three seasons… also a three-time first team all-conference and all-district in cross country, and a two-time all-conference pick in basketball.
