2022 — Team captain… started 11 games as the designated hitter… missed various weekends — and didn’t play from April 2 on — because of a back injury… hit .235 (8-of-34) with three RBIs and three runs scored… went 2-for-4 in game two at UC Irvine (3/12).

2021 Honors — Academic All-Big Ten selection. 2021 — Missed the final 2/3 of the season with a back injury that was re-injured April 3 at Purdue… started 12 games — all at designated hitter — and appeared in 15 contests… posted a .490 on-base percentage… hit .324 (12-of-37) with two doubles, three home runs, and 12 walks… hit safely in 10 games… went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run — his third in four games — in a win over Ohio State (3/27)… hit .750 (3-for-4) with two home runs, four RBIs, and four walks in series against Nebraska (3/19-21)… hit a solo home run in game two (3/20) before going 2-for-2 with three RBIs, two runs scored and three walks in series finale… hit a two-run home run — his second straight day with a blast… had an RBI pinch-hit RBI double in 4-0 win over Ohio State (3/12).

2020 Honors — Named to the Dean’s List for the fall and spring semesters. 2020 — Season canceled by Big Ten Conference and NCAA on March 12 due to concerns of coronavirus (COVID-19)… started one game behind the plate and saw action in four contests… had his first career start and hit against Kansas (3/10)… had his first career RBI and run scored against Georgetown (3/7)… made his Hawkeye debut against Grand View (3/3).

High School — Ranked as the 452nd-best recruit nationally by Perfect Game… is the No. 2-rated catcher in Illinois by Perfect Game… 2018 Perfect Game Preseason All-American… Conference Player of the Year, first-team all-state, and team MVP as a senior after hitting .414 with eight home runs and a .538 OBP, .770 slugging, and 1.308 OPS… 2017 Prep Baseball Report Second-Team All-State… three-time all-conference and all-area selection… three-year varsity starter… two-time varsity team captain and 2017 team MVP… played for Top Tier Americans… Honor Roll all four years… academic all-conference… finished with a 4.3 cumulative grade point average… Student Body Leader… high school coach was Richard Erickson.
