IOWA CITY – Former Hawkeye all-American Kristin Johnson has been named to the National Pro Fastpitch East All-Star team. This is Johnson’s first all-star selection.

Johnson is batting .361 for the Akron Racers this season and leads the team with 14 stolen bases and 12 doubles. She will join the likes of Olympic gold medalists Crystl Bustos and Jennie Finch at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL for the all-star game on August 28 at 3 p.m.

The National Pro Fastpitch playoffs begin on August 27th at Benedictine University. The Racers currently sit in second place with a 36-10 record. Ticket information can be found at www.ticketmaster.com.
