MIAMI, Fla. - The University of Iowa swimming and diving team fell to Miami 199-95 on Tuesday morning at Whitten Center Pool.

“We learned a lot about the grit and determination of our team today against a very good Miami team,” Iowa head coach Nathan Mundt said. “It was a challenge for our team, and a quality competition to begin the second half of our season. We’re excited to get home and get ready for our meet against Illinois next Friday.”

The Hawkeyes tallied three individual wins. Sophomore Olivia Swalley had two first place finishes in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.26) and the 200 IM (2:04.90). Senior Annie Galvin added an individual win of her own with a time of 2:03.74 in the 200 backstroke.

University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving returns home to host Big Ten competitor Illinois in a dual on Friday, Jan. 17. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. (CT) in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.
