IOWA CITY – The first annual Hawkeye Alumni Challenge is set for Friday, Sept. 5 at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. This event is being hosted by the Hawkeye men’s golf team and will be an opportunity for former Hawkeye golfers to meet current players, coaches and administrators.
Friday’s events include a four man scramble followed by an awards social at the University Athletic Club.
Registration for the Challenge begins at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start at 2:45. Festivities continue Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with the men’s golf tailgater at the Duane Banks Gazebo with the football game against Florida International to follow at 11 a.m.
The cost of the Alumni Challenge is $100 per person which includes golf, awards social and the football tailgater. Alumni and family of the Iowa golf program interested in the awards social only, the cost with be $25 per person. Fifty football tickets have been reserved for the Challenge participants at a cost of $50 per ticket ($25 per ticket for kids under 18). Tickets will be available at a first come, first serve basis.
Accommodations for the weekend are available for a special rate at the Marriott Coralville Hotel & Conference Center and the Heartland Inn Iowa City.
